About this policy

This policy covers the AirlineBoard website and iPhone app. AirlineBoard does not require an account. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Location is optional

The board may ask for location permission when it opens without a previously selected airport, or when you select “Use my location.” Your browser or iPhone uses the coordinates locally to find a nearby airport. The coordinates are not sent to AirlineBoard’s servers or database. Only the selected airport is used to load flight information.

You can decline permission and search for an airport instead. You can change permission in your browser settings or iPhone Settings. AirlineBoard does not collect location in the background or share your device location with other users. Aircraft positions shown on maps come from flight data, not your phone.

Saved flights and preferences

Saved flights and commute trips are stored in the app’s website storage on your device, alongside preferences such as your selected airport and theme. They are not synced to an AirlineBoard account or another device.

When Saved is refreshed, the app sends recorded flight identifiers to our server to retrieve current information and check whether each leg still exists. The saved collection is not stored as a user profile on our server. You can remove saved tiles individually. Clearing website data or deleting the app can remove locally stored items and preferences.

Search feedback

To improve search, we record the search text, how it was interpreted, returned flight identifiers, result count, response time, and the flight result you choose, including its position in the results. A random identifier links a result click to its search. These feedback records do not include an account, device identifier, IP address, or your device coordinates.

Search feedback is designed for a 30-day retention period. Please enter flight-related searches rather than passwords, contact information, or other personal details.

Analytics and service logs

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand usage, including page views, referrers, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from network information. Vercel describes this analytics service as cookie-free, using a temporary visitor hash rather than an advertising identifier. Read Vercel’s analytics privacy information for details.

Delivering the service also requires processing network requests. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information, and error or security logs. These service logs are separate from the search-feedback records described above. Analytics and log retention depend on the provider and service settings.

Service providers and support

We use Vercel for website hosting and analytics, Supabase for flight data and search feedback, and AWS for flight-feed processing. Providers process information to operate these services, which may involve processing outside your country. Links opened outside AirlineBoard are governed by the destination’s privacy policy.

If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond and investigate the issue, and retain correspondence as needed to resolve requests and maintain support records. Do not send passwords or other sensitive information.

Your choices and questions

You can use AirlineBoard without location permission, remove your saved tiles, and clear local website data. Contact contact@airlineboard.com with privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information you have supplied. We may need enough information to locate a record; feedback without an account or persistent identifier may not be attributable to you. Rights and applicable exceptions depend on your location.
